her name was Lola, she's still my show bun
Last night my baby Lola was taken from me, probably due to the large tumor growing on the side of her face. She went into convulsions and quickly passed on. Up until her quick downhill in health she was doing amazing. Having fun making fun of Howie and running around like she did in her youth. I got Lola when I was in 10th grade, so needless to say I miss her a lot. Lola lived in my room, Alix's room, 2 classrooms, and my apartment in Boston. She was truly a wonderful bunny. She is being cremated and I will bring her back to NC soon. I know many, if not all of you, knew Lola. Anyway...I like to think of her lounging by a bit yogurt pool in big sunglasses sipping yogurt margs. Because she was classy like that. :)

Inglorious...but wait...where are they???
So here is my febel attempt at reviewing the movie (which I am sure all of you have seen) Inglorious Bastards. (and by review I just mean a few thoughts)
Aaron, Kar, Julia, and I went to go see the film yesterday at the Sommerville Theatre which is cheap and serves beer (brilliant!). I got to tell you, it started out good. Killing Nazis, kicking ass, and body mutulation are just some of the fun details that made this film enjoyable. However there were some let downs. My biggest problem with this film is the lack of presence of the 'bastards'. I found their story to be the most interesting, and yet we don't see them that much. Also the movie hops from 1941 to 1944 which in WWII time is pretty redic...and they don't give much insight to what happened to our main characters during that time. I enjoyed the story of Shoshana...but still, more bastards would have been more fun. Enough of the complaining...my favorite part of the movie was when Hitler died or should I say was murdered! Listen I realize this didn't happen in real life but wouldn't it just be a little bad ass if the Nazi reign was brought down by a bunch of badass Jews? Just saying...i liked that touch.
Ok enough of that. My day today was spent moving Aaron into Harvard. It was so nice! I really think he is going to enjoy it there. His room is a bit small, but can we just talk about the Kitchen for a minute??? It was soooooo badass! 2 huge fridges, all new appliances, water purifier etc etc My theory is that they made the kitchen so nice to distract people from the fact that the dorm looks like a Super 8 motel from 1960...which is weird because the rest of Harvard is gorgeous. Well anyway, we got him all settled in without a hitch, and he is currently mingling with the other future top lawyers of America at a Cook Out...how quaint of them. Anyway I am outtie!

my pets have switched bodies!
In the never ending adventure that is trying to get Howie to like Lola, we have a new flip. Since I last wrote about these two they have been lying near eachother, Lola has rub noses with Howie, and Howie has been scared of any move Lola makes. It has been a very cute relationship. Well tonight while Lola was out on her daily hop Howie decided to check out what this rabbit cage was all about. That was when I discovered this...
adorable I know!
In other new I have a doctors appointment on September 1st to get my tetnus shot. I am pretty scared because, as most of you know, I am super scared of shots. Ugh. Also it is starting to cool down here in Boston...like mid-80s which makes it a bit more comfortable to sleep (without AC) Well I have to sign off for the time being because Real Chance at Love 2 is on. Toodles!

A short story...

Promise most people are nice...
Aaron and I went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. I needed to pee so I went to the bathroom. Turns out it was locked...no sign on the door just locked. A few minute later a little girl says to me 'you have to have a key to get in' Then her mom comes rushing past me and says to her little girl in front of me 'she doesn't have a key so she is not going to get in' and then promptly went into the bathroom. Afterward she didn't even give me the key. The fact that she talked to the little girl about my lack of a key and apparent stupidity made me pretty mad. Grrrrr why are people so mean????

Lola loves Howie, Howie hates Lola

You know how sad it is to see a cat cower from a velveteen bunny? Pretty damn sad. Over the past couple weeks I have tried to get my cat Howie to at least interact with my bunny, but with no luck. The best I have gotten has been an acknowledgement when Lola sniffs Howie. Occasionally, when Lola isn't looking, Howie will take a risk by sniffing her butt. Beyond that however, it seems all hope it lost. It wouldn't be so sad if Lola weren't prey who only eats plants, and Howie weren't descended from Cheetahs...but he is...so it's a pretty sad situation. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

How to be a cheap date in 3 easy steps

Step 1
Move to Boston
Step 2
Find a bar in Boston
Step 3
Order a Sam Adams
So here is what happened...we go to a bar because its hot outside, and a nice cold beer sounds yummy. We each get a Summer Samuel Adams...just ONE Samuel Adams. Due to a previous sickness I am unable to finish mine, but Aaron finishes his just fine. We nursed them...there was no drinking race or rush out the door. We just slowly sipped some beers. Sounds weinery no? Well it gets even worse. When we get up to leave we feel drunk. Like multiple beers drunk. Like making inappropriate comments, stumbling around, and people watching for an hour tipsy. How did this happen? Is it the freshness of the beer? The air in Boston? Or just the light weight tendencies of Aaron and I?

home sweet cheap meat...
So as Aaron and I settle in the city we are finding new and interesting things out. Something I think you readers may find interesting. When Mom took us grocery shopping for the first time we were shocked to find very cheap chicken. Yes, cheap chicken, and not the type that sells itself on the corner for cocaine. 4 boneless chicken breasts (nice size...bow chica wow wow) for $3.80. Now being from the land of the awesome (aka NC) I figured there must be some catch (Boston must be overpriced blah blah blah)...but alas this chicken was cheap and tasted just like chicken! After demolishing the chicken we went back for more groceries. What did we find but 2/3 lbs steaks for $1.40 each! Needless to say we didn't even come close to finishing them, but that just means more steak to go around. Now for the kicker...we went to another grocery store today, and the meat is regular priced! So why is the meat at my beloved Johnnie's Fresh Market so cheap? We asked and they don't know...either the animals are killed on site or they have a deal with the animal butchery mob. What do you think?
Welcome!

Bare with me I promise pictures of my apartment will appear on this blog pretty soon :) Hope you enjoy!!!
